16 DAYS: 1.4-16.4.2015

16 DAY PERFORMANCE, Kahvila Minttu, Kultturitalo Valve

Days have passed by one by one. Fast. 16 days slipped away in the same fast, fast way. I return once again to the feast of different vegetables and fruit. The act of eating in Kahvila Minttu was not  planned in advance. The costumes came first from which the various coloured fruit and vegetables began to emerge. I began to eat colour and colour began to eat me. The everyday act of opening ones mouth and eating is poetic.

A necessity. A luxury.

I went around collecting colour. I moved away from the idea of having to eat food to survive and began to eat colour to live.
Where does my food come from? What lies beneath the brilliant yellow coat of a sour lemon?

A luxury. A nessecity. A feast.
When we eat. If we eat.
How we eat. What we eat.
Who will eat?

Day 1. I slice an avocado in half. So smooth, so rich is the colour green.
Day 2. I peel an apple.

           Day 3. Good, green Friday.
         Day 4. Sensible yellow Saturday.
Day 5. Orange opens my eyes.Easter Day.
Day 6. Red has led us to Easter Monday.

Day 7. I pour myself a cup of green tea. An  elderly lady sits
opposite me. She observes with a blueberry smoothie in her
       hand.

Day 8. I am dressed in white plastic and yellow fabric. I stand in
line.People queue for food. I am eating a banana!

Day 9. I slice a lemon in half. Ah! The sour yellow tears pinch
       my skin.

Day 10. A yellow umberella shelters me as I drink a cup of lemon
        and ginger tea.

Day 11. Silent saturday is dedicated to the O. The Orange.
" ah! you smell so gorgeous!"

Day 12. Still sunday. I cut the orange pepper. Lets eat together!
Day 13. "Blood orange. I drink you with my straw."
Day 14. I have waited for this day. You pompous, pretty little
pomegranate.I slice you in half carefully. I taste you. I
smell you. Your looks have fooled me!
Day 15. Headphones on. Pytor Tchaikovsky. Sleeping Beauty-
        Op.66 Act 1 :The Spell:6 Valse (Allegro:Tiempo di valse)
        one grape..two grapes..three..four..five...six.
Day 16. And now the Grande finale, the king of all peppers, the
proud Paprika. And lets not forget our all time
        favourite, the tomato.
